AN Anchor Nuts consist of a steel zinc plated nut in a nylon cage. They offer a unique way of providing captive thread forms into blind applications. A round hole can be drilled then clipped out with a hand-clipping tool. For larger volume applications the required hole should be punched in. They do not have to be used as a blind application fastener as their unique features provide advantages for other applications. The Ford Transit Custom utilises the vibration resisting features of the nylon head to deaden the sound between the load area and the cab as they are used to fasten the panel behind the driver's head. They are retained in the sheet prior to assembly and therefore eliminate the necessity of two operatives being used to fit the panel and hold nuts whilst tightening takes place.
