Springlok* Spring Steel Double Edge Clips 'ECS' Type
ECS type Edge Clips are available in three forms, non-removable, square barbed and one side removable. They are designed to provide the opportunity of linking two dissimilar or similar panels together at 180 degrees to each other, this can be sheet steel to a plastic or laminate or composite sheet or any combination. The non removable type 1 remain permanently secured by the sharp barbs penetrating the surface of the sheets. The square barbs type 2 give some protection to the surface of the sheet but are still non removable. The removable type 3 has a radius retaining leg which allows one panel side to be removed during service. These parts are available in black phosphate finish.
HSL in line with all other manufacturers of spring steel clips refuses to accept liability for any premature failure of any spring steel part it supplies with an Electro-Plated Finish that has been specified by the customer. This is due to the uncertainty of the incidence of, identification of, control of and removal of Hydrogen Embrittlement. Despite accurate processing controls, baking cannot be relied upon to guarantee removal of Hydrogen. We strongly recommend alternative finishes are specified.
