Latch Studs are turned from Brass or Steel the steel being finished zinc plated and clear passivated. Profile forms are specifically generated to give the best performance when coupled with their mating latch clips. The pull off loads vary from style to style, as does the physical size of the parts. The larger steel forms are not sensitive to the panel thickness as their tapered waist area accepts the clip at varying points to take up panel variations whilst maintaining similar pull off loads throughout. Some of the brass smaller studs vary in the length of the body in order to make allowances for panel thickness. Because of their short length the clipping area is concentrated at a point, therefore body lengths take up panel sizes to maintain similar pull off forces for the different panel thickness'.
