The * in the part no. denotes that these parts are regularly used and therefore could be available from stock or on shorter lead times than parts not marked. CNUT Cal Nut Retainers are very versatile spring steel deep thread form fasteners, some of which are available in Self Locking Thread Forms. They provide the designer with a unique opportunity of multiple thread engagement of a standard machine screw as opposed to a sheet metal screw. This feature allows greater torque for the clamp load therefore providing a more secure joint. The other excellent attribute these clips provide is the fact that they will fit a wide panel range, this makes them an ideal fastener to have in the standards list as they can be used in so many applications. HSL in line with all other manufacturers of spring steel clips refuses to accept liability for any premature failure of any spring steel part it supplies that has been specified by the customer with an Electro-Plated Finish, due to uncertainty regarding the incidence of, identification of, control of and removal of Hydrogen Embrittlement. Despite accurate processing controls, baking cannot be relied upon to guarantee removal of Hydrogen. We strongly recommend alternative finishes are specified.
