DGH headed expansion inserts have a knurled brass body internally threaded with integral spreader plate, suitable for Thermoplastics and Thermoset plastics. They are fast and economical to install, provide high strength threads and designed for use in blind holes. When the insert is in position, the expansion spreader is forced down, manually or automatically. The ears of the spreader move down the slots to expand the shield, without contacting the threads. For optimum performance of the insert the hole must not exceed .05mm above the body diameter (drilled hole) or taper on a moulded hole. Floor of hole must be flat. Floor thickness should be at least 1/2 insert diameter.
