Pressin* Insert for Thermoplastic
|
DN heat/cold inserts are symmetrical for automatic installation, by heat in Thermoplastics or cold in certain materials. A small spigot at each end provides initial location in the hole. They have a knurled brass body internally threaded and provide high pull out and torque resistance. Heat installation is achieved by applying slight downward pressure with a heated mandrel, whereby the surrounding material softens causing it to flow around the knurled surface and then to re-solidify to provide the high strength characteristics of a moulded - in Insert. Cold installation is achieved by pushing directly into a blind or through hole. Hole sizes are specified for general guidance, requiring slight variations for different materials or different methods of installation. The fact that this insert is symmetrical provides further advantages in speed of orientation whether for hand location, semi automation or fully automated applications.
