NOTE:- Due to the special nature of this insert body shape in the form of the collar they are available only on SPECIAL ORDER.
CS inserts are recommended for thermoset or thermoplastic applications. Their geometric shape and sharp pointed barbs eliminate any danger of the moulded bosses splitting on installation or when tightening of the mating screw occurs. The wall thickness of bosses should generally be at least one half of the insert diameter. Different materials may require slight modifications to the hole dimensions stated above and it is essential that the hole depth is sufficient to allow the screw to pass completely through the insert to achieve optimum performance. The collared head provides the useful feature of eliminating Jack out loads when used with a mating part which has a larger hole than the standard insert diameter. This head style is also valuable to assist assembly where a location feature can assist in improving assembly speeds. It can also be used as a contact point for electrical terminations.
