CM inserts are recommended for thermoset or thermoplastic applications. Their reverse headed design shape and sharp pointed barbs make them ideal for use in thin sheet applications or in thin wall locations where advantage can be taken of the head being on the opposite side from the screw entry therefore offering maximum tensile load capability, whilst providing adequate torque loading resistance. In line with all expansion inserts there is the added advantage of a locking action on the mating screw. This phenomenon can be varied by slight adjustment to the hole dimensions to achieve the best compromise between running in torque required, torque resistance required and locking retention.
Different materials may require slight modifications to the hole dimensions stated above and it is essential that the screw passes completely through the insert to achieve optimum performance.
